Constructed under the dark of night, each new piece was then announced daily on his #BANKSYNY Instagram account and chronicled on his pop-up website. The most striking feature of Banksy’s time in NYC was the amount of social media coverage. Each day the public would rush to the newest location - armed with camera phones. These video recordings blasted the Internet in a grass-roots media blitz like no other cultural project in New York City. The film was produced by Jack Turner (HBO’s Emmy winning Which Way Home, Me @ the Zoo and Cold in July).
